The Human Right to Food

What it is: Everyone has the right to feed themselves in dignity through physical and economic access to clean, sustainable, and nutritious food. This right protects individuals from poverty, food insecurity, malnutrition, and starvation.

Working Group – Access to Food:

Our Food Working Group organizes a variety of initiatives to ensure no one goes hungry:

  • Community and school gardening sessions

  • Volunteer opportunities at feeding programs

  • Food drives and free food giveaways

  • School breakfast programs and farming tours

The Human Right to Housing

What it is: Everyone has the right to a safe, stable, and sustainable home, living in security, peace, and dignity, free from the threat of eviction or the loss of property. Housing ensures stability for individuals and families alike.

Working Group – Access to Housing:

Our Housing Working Group promotes housing security through:

  • Volunteer events at housing associations

  • Landlord and tenant legal clinics

  • Renting Ready Program

  • Housing injustice workshops

The Human Right to Healthcare

What it is: Everyone has the right to receive the highest attainable standard of health through accessible healthcare services tailored to individual needs and preferences. This protects communities from disease, violence, poverty, and social exclusion.

Working Group – Access to Healthcare:

Our Healthcare Working Group organizes events to promote wellness and health equity:

  • Blood drives and free health screenings

  • Nature walks and yoga classes

The Human Right to Clothing

What it is: Everyone has the right to good-quality, ethically made, long-lasting, and sustainable clothing, regardless of economic or geographic position. Clothing preserves dignity, self-confidence, self-respect, and personal identity.

The Human Right to Education

What it is: Everyone has the right to free primary, secondary, and tertiary education that suits their age, ability, needs, aptitude, and health. Education unlocks human potential, curiosity, and progress.

The Human Right to Justice

What it is: Everyone has the right to equal access to justice, regardless of economic status or class. This right ensures impartiality, upholds the rule of law, protects individual rights, and prevents discrimination in the administration of justice.

The Human Right to Environment

What it is: Everyone has the right to a safe, healthy, and sustainable environment, including clean air, potable water, and a stable climate. This ensures the protection of human life now and for future generations.

Working Group – Access to a Healthy Environment:

Our Environment Working Group promotes sustainability through:

  • Trash cleanups and microplastics sampling

  • Youth Climate Summit and Earth Hour events
